You are welcome to come to one or two of these sessions, or follow the whole course.
How do we know what we are called to do, especially when the world is full of urgent problems? This course will offer practical techniques from the Quaker tradition for individuals and communities to find a right way forward.
Where should I focus my energy? Should my Quaker meeting get involved in a particular issue? How do we know what the Spirit is leading us to do versus what we want to do? We will explore how to answer these and related question using practical discernment processes including meeting for worship for business, meetings for clearness, and threshing meetings.
During this course, we will look at the theory behind Quaker discernment, test out some practices, and consider how to share them with others both within and beyond the Quaker community.
Each week’s Zoom session will stand alone so participants are welcome to attend just one or two or join part way through the course; we will share links in the Zoom chat to additional resources.
On the booking form, there is a chance for you to let us know about any accessibility or communication adjustments that will enable you to participate more fully in the course. Automated Zoom closed captions are available for all live sessions but if you feel you require more accurate closed captioning please email us directly in addition to booking.
