Tuesday 8 October
19:00-21:00 (UK time)
The Quaker Parent / Grandparent Survey ran in autumn 2023 to learn about the faith practices, views, joys and challenges of Quaker families with under-19s. Come hear its results, share your reflections and discuss possible next steps.
We can learn about Quaker families in Britain by listening to parents and grandparents who report their experiences and views. This information can help Friends in Quaker meetings better understand the needs of families with under-19s. This course may interest role-holders in Quaker meetings, people who work with under-19s at Quaker events, Quaker parents/grandparents, and those interested in the present and future of British Quakerism. Example topics: attendance at Quaker events, faith practices at home, outreach to families, and what welcomes and includes diverse family members.
In the live session, survey and interview research will be summarised, followed by time for questions and reflections. Optional online resources will give further details and allow for follow-up discussions.
This project is supported by the Sheila J Gatiss research scholarship from Cambridgeshire Area Meeting.
There will be some material to look at before the first session. We will email you around one week prior to the course with information about accessing the course, including this material, on our online learning platform (Moodle).
On the booking form, there is a chance for you to let us know about any accessibility or communication adjustments that will enable you to participate more fully in the course. Automated Zoom closed captions are available for all live sessions but if you feel you require more accurate closed captioning please email us directly in addition to booking.
