Creatively Visioning the Future: A Winter Retreat

Saturday 7 December
10:15-16:00 (UK time)

,
Creatively Visioning the Future

This creative participatory retreat offers a space to explore what a future based on love and truth might bring. Acknowledging that governments and corporations aren’t acting swift enough, how can we inspire positive actions and re-envision society?

During this day, which is a continuation of our ongoing re-visioning theme inspired by the work of Rob Hopkins, we will respond to an introductory talk through creative exploration (no artistic ability required). We will focus especially on developing a clearer image of what we hope the future could look like. We will then discuss some aspects of our visions and consider steps we might take towards bringing them about.

The only certainty we have about the future is that there will be radical changes in our global environment. We can choose how we wish to respond. We will imagine what a future based on love and truth might look like, guided by scientific understanding and imagination, and share some aspects of our visions. We will also explore how our actions today and our gifts might be used to influence future developments.

This is a stand-alone retreat, although you may choose to use it to reflect further on recent learning or experiences. We hope that some people may wish to use it as a starting point for a more in-depth course we hope to offer early in 2025.

You will need a quiet space to work in for the day, and some simple materials for a paper-based creative exercise. Further details will be emailed to course participants in advance. The day runs from 10:30am to 4pm, including lunch break and plenty of screen breaks. Optional Meeting for Worship open to join from 10:15am.
