An Infinite Ocean of Light

How do you react to George Fox’s vivid image of ‘an infinite ocean of light’? Prompted by our experience of this well-loved phrase, we will look at creative actions within ourselves: touched by words and imagery, we may find a new and surprising response.

In these two sessions we will explore our responses to this image – not in a theological sense, but in the sense of how it makes us feel and how we can use this positively in our lives. The sessions will be relaxed and hopefully enjoyable, and maybe you will take advantage of the discussion forum to share ideas and thoughts. Some creative writing may beckon as we go along, or maybe simple illustrations and a willingness to share our own experiences of the creative spirit in action.

“I saw also that there was an ocean of darkness and death, but an infinite ocean of light and love, which flowed over the ocean of darkness. And in that also I saw the infinite love of God; and I had great openings.” George Fox, Journal 1647. Quaker Faith & Practice 19.03
