This single live session will explore how Quakers are represented in archives and in fiction. Brian Blackmore and Matt Alton will speak about their chapters from The Quaker World, edited by C. Wess Daniels and Rhiannon Grant.


This session is part of a series focusing on the contents of The Quaker World, published in 2021, which makes a substantial contribution to Quaker studies. Brian Blackmore will speak about his chapter, “A Short History of Quakers Inclusion of Gay and Lesbian People”, and Matt Alton will talk about his chapter, “Young Adult Quakers and Epilogue: A Case Study of an ‘Alternative’ Worshipping Community”. It will be recorded and the recording made available to those who register.
