Lectures
Woodbrooke has responsibility for a number of important lectures that aim to inform, challenge, and inspire Friends around the world. The George Richardson lecture is the annual public lecture in Quaker Studies given by a leading academic in Quaker studies. The Swarthmore Lecture has been given every year since 1908, it is usually held at the time of Britain Yearly Meeting’s annual gathering. The purpose of the lecture is to interpret the message and mission of Quakers and express the spirit, aims, and fundamental principles of Friends.
